De Cultuurhistorische Landschappen zijn gebieden die representatief zijn voor de agrarische cultuurlandschappen van zand, klei en verdwenen veen, maar ook voor de landschappen gevormd door waterbeheersing en defensie, zoals overlaten en waterlinies.
